French and British marinas work together to improve
quality of service and leisure boating links
We are pleased to announce that the Marinas of Sovereign, Dover,
Ramsgate, Boulogne, Gravline, Dunkirk, Etaples sur Mer and Calais
have been successful in gaining Interreg IIIA EEC grant support to
establish joint working partnerships.
The objective of the partnership is to improve customer care,
exchange of professional expertise, provide a joint approach to
marketing, explore common environmental issues and extend the
leisure boating season.
This initiative will further strengthen the links between
British and French marina operators within the Nord Pas de Calais
region and provide improved leisure boating services.
The lead partners for this project will be Syndicat Mixte de la
Cote d’Opale for the French partners and Thanet District Council
for the British partners. It is anticipated that other marinas on
both sides of the channel will be given an opportunity to assist in
the objectives of this initiative and a wonderful opportunity for
French and British marina’s to improve the package offered to
visiting yachtsmen.
